Job Description
Are you 16 years old, looking for an active way to earn money, and enjoy being outdoors? DoorDash is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Teen Delivery Runners to join our team in the Wichita area! As a Delivery Runner, you’ll use your own bike to pick up and deliver food and other items from local restaurants and stores directly to customers. This is a fantastic opportunity to stay active, earn supplemental income, and be an essential part of connecting your community.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver food and other items using your personal bike within designated local zones.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure items are delivered to the correct customer.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
- Manage delivery times to ensure timely arrival of orders.
- Utilize the DoorDash app for order management, navigation, and communication.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on deliveries.
Required Skills
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Reliable access to a personal bike and bicycle safety equipment (helmet, lights).
- Basic understanding of navigating local streets and using GPS.
- Ability to lift and carry delivery bags (up to 15-20 lbs).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
- Access to a smartphone capable of running the DoorDash app.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Wichita area and its bike routes.
- Previous experience with bike delivery or similar courier work (personal or informal).
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
