Job Description
FedEx is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Shipping and Receiving Clerk with a strong focus on data accuracy to join our team in Lubbock, TX. This position is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in logistics and gain valuable experience with a global leader. You will be responsible for managing inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring precise inventory control through diligent data entry, and contributing to the efficient flow of goods. Training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with little to no prior experience but a strong aptitude for organization and data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders or other records.
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Accurately record all shipping and receiving data into the company's inventory management system.
- Maintain organized and accessible records of all transactions.
- Operate material handling equipment safely, such as forklifts or pallet jacks (training provided if needed).
- Perform periodic inventory counts and assist with discrepancy resolution.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
