Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Layton, UT. This is an exceptional management opportunity for a skilled technician ready to take on a leadership role, overseeing daily pharmacy operations and guiding a team of pharmacy technicians. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high standards of patient care, and contributing to the overall success of the pharmacy. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily pharmacy technician activities, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to operational procedures.
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Assist the Pharmacist in charge with inventory management, ordering, stocking medications, and conducting regular audits.
- Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently, including data entry, insurance billing, and patient consultations regarding non-clinical questions.
- Maintain precise patient records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
- Resolve patient and provider inquiries, escalating complex issues to the Pharmacist as necessary.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Participate in performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance initiatives to optimize pharmacy services.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and data entry
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and calculations
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience with automated dispensing systems
- Advanced training or certifications in pharmacy management
- Proven track record of improving workflow efficiency or team performance
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish)
