Job Description
Are you compassionate, reliable, and looking for a fulfilling role in healthcare? Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Patient Transport Aides for non-emergency services. This vital role involves safely and comfortably transporting patients to and from appointments, ensuring their dignity and well-being throughout their journey. No prior experience in healthcare is required as full, comprehensive training will be provided to all successful candidates. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients, often using wheelchairs, trolleys, or specific transport vehicles, between hospital departments, clinics, and their homes.
- Assist patients with mobility, ensuring their comfort and safety during transfers.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, their families, and clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate records of patient movements and vehicle logs.
- Ensure the cleanliness and operational readiness of transport equipment and vehicles.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding policies.
- Respond to emergency situations appropriately and efficiently.
- Provide a supportive and reassuring presence for patients during their journey.
