Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pinterest Metadata Analyst with a strong focus on Machine Learning to join our innovative team at Walmart Global Tech. In this role, you will be instrumental in analyzing, optimizing, and managing metadata associated with product listings and user-generated content, with a particular emphasis on improving the performance of our machine learning models. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to ensure the quality, consistency, and relevance of metadata, directly impacting search, recommendation, and personalization algorithms.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing Pinterest-style metadata for products and content, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies for metadata enrichment and standardization to enhance the discoverability and relevance of content.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers and data scientists to understand model requirements and data inputs, providing metadata solutions that optimize model performance.
- Design and execute data quality checks and validation processes for metadata, ensuring high accuracy and reliability.
- Monitor trends in user behavior and content consumption to adapt metadata strategies, including keyword research and taxonomy development.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of scalable metadata management tools and ontologies.
- Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams, advocating for data-driven metadata strategies.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, metadata management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and how data inputs (especially metadata) influence model outcomes.
- Experience with data quality assurance and validation techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with large-scale e-commerce or content platforms.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and scripting.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, or AWS.
