Job Description

Audacy, Inc. is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Audio Assistant to join our talented team in Overland Park. This entry-level position is a unique opportunity for individuals with little to no professional experience to learn the fundamentals of audio engineering, live sound production, and post-production from seasoned professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Assist audio engineers with setting up, operating, and dismantling audio equipment for broadcasts, podcasts, and live events.
- Perform basic sound checks and troubleshoot minor technical issues under supervision.
- Organize and maintain audio equipment, cables, microphones, and accessories.
- Support in the recording, editing, and mixing of audio content using digital audio workstations (DAWs).
- Shadow senior audio personnel to learn best practices in sound design, acoustics, and audio mixing.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to audio projects, including logging and archiving audio files.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the audio studios and control rooms.
- Provide support during live productions, ensuring smooth audio transitions and clear sound quality.
Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a certificate or degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Broadcast Media, or a related field
- Familiarity with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Adobe Audition
- Basic experience with microphone techniques, signal flow, and PA systems (e.g., from school projects, amateur bands, or volunteer work)
- Knowledge of various audio file formats and conversion processes
- A portfolio or examples of personal audio projects (e.g., recordings, mixes, sound design)
