Job Description
Join HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital as a Weekend Patient Sitter! This part-time role offers a low-stress opportunity to make a significant difference in patient safety and comfort. You will provide continuous visual observation for patients identified as being at risk for falls, self-harm, or other safety concerns. Your watchful presence and prompt communication will be crucial in preventing incidents and ensuring a secure environment for our patients. This is an ideal position for individuals seeking meaningful part-time work in a healthcare setting, requiring excellent observational skills and a calm demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous, direct visual observation of assigned patients, maintaining a constant presence in the patient's room.
- Report any changes in patient behavior, condition, or safety concerns immediately to the nursing staff.
- Document observations accurately and timely as per hospital policy.
- Assist patients with non-medical needs such as calling for nursing assistance, fetching water, or adjusting TV/lights, within scope of practice.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment around the patient.
- Engage with patients in a respectful and reassuring manner.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures regarding patient safety and confidentiality.
