Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Part-time Hostess to join our esteemed team for weekend fine dining services. This role is crucial in creating an exceptional first impression for our guests, managing reservations efficiently, and ensuring a smooth flow of service. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, managing all aspects of the guest experience from arrival to seating.
- Efficiently manage the reservation system (e.g., OpenTable) and walk-in guest flow to maximize seating capacity and minimize wait times.
- Accurately quote wait times, manage guest expectations, and provide timely updates.
- Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and communicating any specials or relevant information.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting entrance and waiting area.
- Assist with coat check, special requests, and inquiries from guests.
- Collaborate closely with the serving staff and kitchen to ensure seamless service.
- Handle guest concerns and complaints with grace and professionalism, escalating when necessary.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies and fine dining service standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a clear and articulate speaking voice.
- Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with reservation software (e.g., OpenTable) is a plus.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a hostess in a fine dining establishment.
- Familiarity with local attractions and dining recommendations.
- A passion for culinary arts and an understanding of upscale dining etiquette.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset.
