Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and physically capable Commercial Awning Installer Mate to join our construction support team in Chandler, AZ. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in the construction industry, particularly with a focus on custom installations. As an Installer Mate, you will work closely with our experienced lead installers, providing essential support for the assembly, transportation, and installation of commercial awnings and shade structures. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead installers with the precise measurement, cutting, and assembly of awning components on-site and in the workshop.
  • Safely load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Prepare installation sites, including clearing areas, setting up scaffolding or ladders, and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Support the lifting, positioning, and securing of awning frames and fabrics during installation.
  • Perform basic hand and power tool operation under supervision.
  • Clean up job sites daily, ensuring all tools are properly stored and waste is removed.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with team members and site managers to ensure project efficiency and client satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 75 lbs) regularly.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in construction, general labor, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift certification (preferred, but not required).
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour construction certification.
