Job Description
TransPerfect is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Translation & Interpreting Services Intern to join our dynamic team in San Antonio. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced language services industry, working alongside seasoned professionals. You will contribute to various projects, supporting our translation and interpreting departments, and learning about industry best practices, project management, and quality assurance processes. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about languages, cross-cultural communication, and looking to kickstart their career in a global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers with project setup, vendor coordination, and quality control checks.
- Support the interpreting team with scheduling, client communication, and technology setup.
- Conduct linguistic quality assurance reviews and terminology management tasks.
- Research industry trends, competitor activities, and new technologies.
- Maintain and update internal databases and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Perform administrative tasks as required to support the overall team operations.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interest in languages and cross-cultural communication.
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree program in Linguistics, Translation, International Business, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in a second language (any language).
- Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ) or interpreting platforms.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in a professional office setting.
- Basic understanding of localization workflows.
