Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Foreign Exchange Teller with an International Travel focus. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for clients needing foreign currency exchange services, often those preparing for international travel. You will process transactions accurately and efficiently, provide expert advice on currency matters, and ensure a seamless and positive experience for every customer. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of international currencies, and exceptional communication skills to serve our diverse client base. You will play a crucial role in supporting our clients’ global financial needs, offering insights and solutions that enhance their travel experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Process foreign currency exchange transactions accurately and efficiently for customers.
• Provide expert advice on exchange rates, currency regulations, and travel-related financial tips.
• Maintain strict adherence to all banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including AML and KYC.
• Handle large sums of cash and maintain accurate cash drawer reconciliation daily.
• Identify customer needs and cross-sell relevant banking products and services, such as travel cards or international wire transfers.
• Educate customers on fraud prevention and security measures related to foreign currency.
• Resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve branch goals and provide exceptional service.
• Stay updated on global economic trends and geopolitical events that may impact currency markets.

Required Skills

• Minimum 1 year of experience in cash handling or customer service, preferably in a financial setting.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with computer systems and basic office software.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a bank teller or foreign exchange specialist.
• Familiarity with various international currencies and global financial markets.
• Associates degree or higher in Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities, especially in languages common among international travelers.
• Experience with compliance protocols related to foreign exchange and anti-money laundering.
