Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and diligent Public Sector Procurement Driver for light van deliveries based out of our Milwaukee hub. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, equipment, and documents essential for public sector operations. This involves picking up and delivering items to various government agencies, schools, and other public institutions throughout the Milwaukee metropolitan area and surrounding regions. Adherence to strict delivery schedules, accurate record-keeping, and excellent customer service are paramount. You will operate light vans, ensuring all deliveries are handled with care and security, supporting the seamless functioning of vital public services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a light van for the pickup and delivery of procured goods, equipment, and documents to public sector clients.
  • Adhere to scheduled routes and timelines, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries.
  • Inspect vehicles before and after shifts, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
  • Accurately complete delivery logs, manifest sheets, and other required documentation.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securement and handling to prevent damage.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and public sector contacts.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
  • Assist with basic vehicle maintenance checks, such as fluid levels and tire pressure.

Required Skills

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and route optimization.
  • Proven reliability and punctuality.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle operation and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of professional driving or delivery experience.
  • Experience working in a logistics or supply chain environment.
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement processes or government facilities.
  • Knowledge of Milwaukee and surrounding Wisconsin areas.
