Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional and dedicated Medical Center Porter to join our team at Nuffield Health Watford Hospital. In this essential role, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our boutique clinic, providing vital support to patients, medical staff, and visitors. Your primary responsibilities will include the safe and timely transport of patients, equipment, and medical records, maintaining a clean and orderly environment, and upholding the highest standards of discretion and patient confidentiality. This position requires an individual with a strong commitment to service excellence, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients between departments, wards, and treatment areas using appropriate mobility aids.
- Move medical equipment, laboratory samples, patient notes, and mail efficiently and securely.
- Assist with patient mobility and comfort, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and designated storage areas.
- Respond promptly to requests from nursing staff and other departments.
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies and health and safety guidelines.
- Provide empathetic support to patients and their families, answering general inquiries and offering assistance as needed.
- Manage and deliver linen, supplies, and waste in accordance with hospital procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
- Contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
