Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting entry point into a rewarding career in logistics and warehousing? Mission Hill Family Estate Winery is offering a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Forklift Driver. No prior experience is required, as we will fully fund your forklift operator licence training and provide all necessary on-the-job instruction. This full-time role is perfect for someone eager to learn, committed to safety, and ready to contribute to the efficient movement of our premium wine products. You will play a crucial role in our production and distribution operations, ensuring our wines are handled with the utmost care from cellar to shipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in and successfully complete comprehensive forklift operator training, leading to full certification.
  • Safely operate forklifts (after certification) to move, stack, and retrieve various winery products, including barrels, cases, and supplies.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and containers, ensuring accurate inventory and damage-free handling.
  • Perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance tasks on forklifts, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse, cellar, and loading docks.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with production, cellar, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Support inventory management by accurately tracking movements and reporting discrepancies.
  • Assist with other general warehousing and production duties as required.

Required Skills

  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), bend, and reach for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or agricultural environment (non-forklift specific).
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations or logistics principles.
  • Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's licence.
