Job Description

Duke Energy Florida is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Energy Sector Procurement Aide with a strong buying focus to join our remote team. This is a crucial support role within our procurement department, responsible for assisting with various purchasing activities, supplier management, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods and services essential to our energy operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to supporting our procurement specialists and managers. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist procurement specialists in processing purchase requisitions and orders for various energy sector goods and services.
  • Maintain and update supplier information, contracts, and procurement records accurately.
  • Conduct basic market research to identify potential suppliers and compare product offerings.
  • Communicate with internal departments to clarify requirements and track order statuses.
  • Support the resolution of invoicing and delivery discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and accounts payable.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on procurement activities and performance metrics.
  • Adhere to company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle).
  • Prior administrative or support experience in a corporate setting.
  • Familiarity with the energy sector or utility industry.
