Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team at Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, Texas. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be instrumental in helping patients of all ages achieve their maximum level of independence and improve their quality of life. You will develop and implement individualized treatment plans, provide direct therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional abilities, limitations, and needs across various settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient goals and medical conditions.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and cognitive retraining.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, home exercise programs, and adaptive techniques to promote continued progress and safety.
  • Document patient progress, evaluations, and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to all regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, inservices, and continuing education activities to maintain professional competency and contribute to program development.

Required Skills

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Eligibility for or active Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Clinical experience in an acute care, rehabilitation, or outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in applying occupational therapy principles, theories, and treatment techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialty certifications (e.g., Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), Physical Agent Modalities (PAM), SIPT).
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics, neurological conditions).
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish).
