Job Description
As a Radiography Aide with an Imaging & Data focus at UPS in Ontario, California, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and integrity of specialized shipments. This position involves operating advanced radiographic imaging equipment to inspect packages and cargo, accurately recording and analyzing image data, and maintaining detailed logs. You will work within a fast-paced logistics environment, contributing to our commitment to security and operational excellence. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of data handling, and the ability to operate complex machinery under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate radiographic imaging equipment to inspect packages, cargo, and contents according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Capture, process, and store digital radiographic images, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Accurately record and log imaging data, including findings, timestamps, and package identifiers, into internal systems.
- Identify and report anomalies or potential risks observed during the imaging process to supervisory staff.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, radiation protection standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain efficient workflow and uphold security standards.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies necessary for radiography operations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance imaging and data management skills.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and use of office software
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Ability to follow precise instructions and protocols
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and maneuver packages as required (within safety limits)
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics, warehousing, or security screening environment
- Familiarity with imaging equipment or radiographic principles (e.g., X-ray, CT scanning)
- Experience with data management systems or electronic records
- Post-secondary education or vocational training in a relevant field
