Job Description

Are you a problem-solver with a passion for e-commerce and a knack for technology? Shopify is seeking a dedicated Part-time Shopify Tech Support specialist to join our dynamic team, specifically for evening and weekend shifts. In this crucial role, you will be the first line of support for our valued merchants, helping them navigate technical challenges, optimize their online stores, and ensure their businesses run smoothly. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to the success of entrepreneurs globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional technical support to Shopify merchants via chat, email, and occasionally phone during evening and weekend hours.
  • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues related to the Shopify platform, themes, apps, and integrations.
  • Assist merchants with general platform inquiries, troubleshooting website performance, and optimizing store settings.
  • Guide merchants through various setup processes, including payment gateways, shipping, and domain configuration.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior support specialists or relevant internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all merchant interactions and resolutions in our CRM system.
  • Stay up-to-date with new Shopify features, apps, and best practices to provide informed support.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base by documenting solutions and common troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of the Shopify platform and general e-commerce principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and efficiently.
  • Customer service experience, with a focus on empathy and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Comfortable working evening and weekend shifts.
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a technical support role, ideally in e-commerce or SaaS.
  • Familiarity with basic HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with various third-party e-commerce applications and integrations.
  • A passion for helping small businesses succeed.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, IT, Business).
