Job Description
Join CVS Health as a Retail Pharmacy Technician and become a vital part of our patient care team in New Port Richey, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the accurate and efficient dispensing of prescription medications, including data entry, counting, pouring, and labeling.
- Process prescription orders, ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, and company guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately, following proper cash handling procedures.
- Assist with insurance billing and help resolve basic claims issues for patients.
- Adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations and maintain absolute patient confidentiality.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current or eligible for Florida Pharmacy Technician registration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from PTCB or NHA.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.
