Job Description
Are you a motivated pharmacy student looking to gain practical experience in a dynamic retail pharmacy setting? Walgreens in Laredo, Texas is offering an exciting Pharmacy Tech Intern position tailored for students. This role provides hands-on training, mentorship, and a flexible schedule designed to accommodate your academic commitments. You will assist our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in various tasks, learning the ins and outs of pharmacy operations, patient care, and medication dispensing. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with prescription intake and processing.
- Help manage inventory, including stocking shelves and organizing medications.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and locating products.
- Prepare prescription labels and ensure accurate patient information.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workstation.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Learn and comply with all federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Support the pharmacy team in daily operations and special projects as needed.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or Pharmacy Doctor (PharmD) program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- A strong desire to learn and grow within the pharmacy profession.
- Ability to obtain a Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee license prior to starting (if not already held).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service or retail experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
- Prior volunteer experience in a healthcare setting.
