Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical E-commerce Sentiment Analyst with a focus on sales to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting customer feedback, reviews, and social media conversations related to our e-commerce products and services. Your primary objective will be to identify sentiment trends, product pain points, and opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales conversion. You will work closely with product development, marketing, and sales teams to provide actionable insights that directly influence strategy and improve our online presence and offerings. This is a crucial role in understanding the voice of our customer and translating it into tangible business improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large volumes of customer sentiment data from various e-commerce channels, including product reviews, social media, customer service interactions, and forums.
  • Utilize advanced text analytics tools and methodologies to identify key themes, trends, and emerging issues related to product performance and customer experience.
  • Specifically focus on sentiment related to sales conversions, abandoned carts, product desirability, and post-purchase satisfaction that impacts future sales.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards summarizing sentiment analysis findings, presenting actionable insights to cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Marketing, Sales).
  • Collaborate with product development and merchandising teams to communicate customer feedback and influence product improvements and new feature development.
  • Monitor competitor sentiment and market trends to provide competitive intelligence and identify best practices.
  • Develop and refine sentiment categorization models and tagging structures to improve data accuracy and relevance.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels, including leadership, to inform strategic decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest sentiment analysis tools, techniques, and e-commerce trends.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in sentiment analysis, market research, or data analysis within an e-commerce or retail environment.
  • Proficiency with sentiment analysis tools and platforms (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Talkwalker, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce metrics, sales funnels, and customer journey mapping.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying sales-related opportunities and risks from customer sentiment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Data Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) techniques or machine learning.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation.
  • Experience working with global teams and diverse customer datasets.
  • Previous experience in a dedicated e-commerce sales support or analytics role.
