Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Decatur, Georgia. In this vital role, you will support our pharmacists in dispensing medication, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about healthcare and committed to patient safety and satisfaction. You will be an integral part of our community pharmacy, contributing to the efficient operation of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all legal and company policies.
  • Process prescription orders, including data entry, insurance verification, and patient record maintenance.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service, answering patient questions and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workstation.
  • Operate cash register and handle financial transactions.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Support the pharmacist in administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active Pharmacy Technician License/Certification in Georgia (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy software systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
  • Certification from a nationally recognized pharmacy technician certification board (e.g., PTCB, NHA)
