Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Phlebotomy Support Porter to join our busy clinical team in Canary Wharf. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in healthcare, providing essential support to our phlebotomy services. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for those with no prior experience but a strong desire to learn and contribute to a vital healthcare service. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient transport of patients, samples, and equipment within the clinical environment, directly impacting patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and compassionately transport patients to and from phlebotomy clinics, wards, and diagnostic areas.
  • Deliver blood samples, specimens, and other clinical materials to laboratories and designated drop-off points promptly and securely.
  • Assist phlebotomists with setting up and tidying patient areas, ensuring a clean and organised workspace.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good order of equipment used for patient transport and general portering duties.
  • Handle and store medical supplies and equipment according to established protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors, maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanour.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Participate in all mandatory training and continuous professional development programs.
