Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and hardworking Live-in Soft Fruit Pickers to join our dedicated team for the upcoming season. This role offers an incredible opportunity to work in a picturesque rural setting near Portsmouth, gaining hands-on experience in fruit cultivation. Accommodation on-site is provided, along with a travel allowance to support your journey to our farm. Key Responsibilities
- Harvesting a variety of soft fruits, including strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, with care and efficiency.
- Ensuring fruit is picked at optimal ripeness and quality standards.
- Carefully packing fruit into punnets and trays, adhering to specific guidelines.
- Monitoring fruit health and reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Adhering to all farm health and safety regulations.
- Working effectively as part of a team to meet daily picking targets.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina for prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail to identify ripe fruit and maintain quality standards.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to live on-site in provided accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in fruit picking or agricultural work is a plus, but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene practices.
- A valid UK driving license (helpful for personal transport outside work, not required for the role).
