Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Gas Driver with a specialized focus on cryogenic products to join our Irvine, CA team. This role is critical for the safe and efficient delivery of liquid nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and other cryogenic gases to our diverse customer base. The successful candidate will operate tanker trucks, adhering strictly to DOT regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A CDL commercial motor vehicles, specifically cryogenic tanker trailers, to transport industrial gases.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, ensuring all safety standards are met.
- Load and unload cryogenic products at various customer sites and company facilities, following strict safety protocols for hazardous materials.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including manifests, delivery tickets, and logbooks, both manually and electronically.
- Maintain strict adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, HAZMAT procedures, and company safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Monitor product levels, pressures, and temperatures of cryogenic tanks during transit and at delivery points.
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on delivery equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and potential issues.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience, with a strong preference for industrial gas or cryogenic transport.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no preventable accidents or serious violations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DOT regulations and safe handling procedures for hazardous materials, particularly cryogenic liquids.
- Ability to operate vehicles in all weather conditions and through varying traffic.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to perform required duties including bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and climbing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Familiarity with local delivery routes in the Southern California region.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for route management and documentation.
- Previous experience operating a pump-off unit for bulk deliveries.
