Job Description
XPO Logistics is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Tally Man with a strong focus on logistics and shipping to join our dynamic team in New Port Richey, FL. As a key member of our operations, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of goods within our facility and across our shipping network. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of inventory accuracy and dispatch readiness. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to precision in all tasks related to inventory control and shipment preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately count, weigh, and record all incoming and outgoing goods, materials, and products.
- Verify goods against invoices, orders, and other documentation to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain detailed tally sheets, inventory logs, and shipping manifests.
- Conduct quality checks on shipments to ensure proper packaging, labeling, and condition before dispatch.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff and shipping clerks to ensure timely and accurate loading/unloading of vehicles.
- Report any damaged goods, shortages, or overages to supervisors immediately.
- Assist in physical inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Operate basic material handling equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks throughout a shift.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, inventory software).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience of 6 months or more in a warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving role.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
