Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Tax Manager/Director with a strong background in international taxation to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru. This critical role involves managing complex international tax engagements, providing strategic tax advisory services to multinational clients, and ensuring compliance with various tax jurisdictions. You will be instrumental in guiding clients through intricate global tax landscapes, optimizing their tax positions, and leading a team of talented tax professionals. This position is open to international candidates who are looking to relocate to India and contribute to a leading global firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex international tax engagements, including tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for multinational clients.
  • Provide expert advice on cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, M&A tax implications, and international tax structuring.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Review and approve tax provisions, returns, and related tax calculations prepared by the team.
  • Stay abreast of changes in international tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on clients and developing proactive strategies.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Collaborate with other service lines and global Deloitte member firms to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Represent Deloitte in client meetings and professional forums, demonstrating deep technical expertise and thought leadership.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international tax within a Big Four firm or a large multinational corporation.
  • Strong technical expertise in international tax principles, including OECD guidelines, treaty interpretation, and various country-specific tax regimes.
  • Proven experience in managing tax engagements and leading teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in tax research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
  • Master's degree in Taxation, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience with tax technology solutions and automation.
  • Specific expertise in tax laws of major economies (e.g., US, EU, APAC).
  • Prior experience working with international candidates or in a globally diverse team.
