Job Description

Join the FedEx team in Santa Clarita, CA, as a Facilities Maintenance professional specializing in general repair. This stable, full-time role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our facilities, supporting our mission to deliver excellence. You will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, including minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general structural repairs. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards of facility upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
  • Execute general repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC system basic troubleshooting.
  • Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Operate and maintain various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other team members and contractors for larger projects.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in general facilities maintenance or a related trade.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., HVAC, electrical).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
