Job Description

Join XPO Logistics as a Tractor-Trailer Driver for our regional routes based out of Chicago, Illinois. This role offers the perfect balance of consistent work and predictable home time, ensuring you’re home every weekend. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across designated regional routes, primarily within the Midwest. We are looking for professional drivers who prioritize safety, maintain schedules, and deliver exceptional service. This is an on-site position focused on regional driving operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor-trailer combinations in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Transport goods over designated regional routes, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or issues.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs and other necessary paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper cargo securement and handling procedures.
  • Represent XPO Logistics professionally at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
  • Minimum of 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with dry van and/or temperature-controlled freight
  • Hazmat endorsement
  • Experience with ELD systems
