Job Description
We are seeking reliable and physically fit individuals to join our team as Fruit Crate Handlers at our Colchester distribution facility. This is a critical role responsible for the efficient and safe loading and unloading of fresh fruit crates, ensuring our produce maintains its quality from farm to customer. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload fruit crates from delivery vehicles and into designated storage or processing areas.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing crates for damage, quality issues, or discrepancies and report findings as necessary.
- Organise and stack crates in an orderly manner, adhering to warehouse layout and safety protocols.
- Operate manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks or trolleys in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work environment, including waste disposal and equipment upkeep.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets.
- Adhere to all company health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive lifting and manual tasks for extended periods.
- High level of reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
