Job Description
Join Quest Diagnostics as a Part-time Weekend Lab Courier, focusing on the secure and timely transportation of medical records and specimens. This vital role ensures that critical diagnostic information reaches our labs efficiently, directly contributing to patient care. You will be responsible for operating a company vehicle to pick up and deliver lab specimens, supplies, and confidential medical records from various client sites in and around Cicero, Illinois. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict safety and confidentiality protocols, and excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport medical specimens, supplies, and medical records between client locations and Quest Diagnostics facilities on weekends.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good operating condition of the company vehicle.
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and confidentiality of all specimens and medical records.
- Complete daily logs, manifest records, and other necessary documentation accurately.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and laboratory staff regarding pickups and deliveries.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, using proper lifting techniques.
- Troubleshoot minor delivery issues and escalate as necessary.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Familiarity with the Cicero, Illinois area and surrounding regions.
- Ability to work independently and reliably on weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a courier or in a medical setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience handling confidential documents or sensitive materials.
