Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior audio engineers and technicians with setup, operation, and strike of audio equipment for live broadcasts and recorded productions.
- Perform routine cable management, labeling, and organization to maintain a tidy and efficient workspace.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of audio gear and report technical issues to senior staff.
- Help maintain inventory of audio equipment, ensuring all items are accounted for and in good working order.
- Support sound checks, microphone placement, and signal flow verification.
- Shadow and learn from experienced professionals in areas such as audio mixing, recording techniques, and post-production.
- Assist with the preparation and breakdown of audio control rooms and studios.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for audio production, sound engineering, or broadcast media.
- Basic understanding of audio principles and equipment (e.g., microphones, mixers, cables).
- Exceptional eagerness to learn and absorb new information quickly.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift and move audio equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Proactive attitude and strong problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or vocational training in audio engineering, music production, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Adobe Audition (even personal projects).
- Familiarity with broadcast studio environments or live event production.
- Prior experience in a support role within a technical or creative setting.
