Job Description

Ameresco is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Energy Auditor to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sustainable energy and eager to start a career in energy efficiency. As an Energy Auditor, you will primarily focus on field research, conducting on-site data collection and assessments to support comprehensive energy audits for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. You will work under the guidance of senior auditors, learning to identify energy waste, assess existing systems, and contribute to the development of energy-saving recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections and data collection for energy auditing projects, including HVAC systems, lighting, building envelopes, and controls.
  • Operate and maintain specialized field equipment for data acquisition (e.g., power meters, thermal cameras, air flow hoods).
  • Assist in the identification of energy conservation measures (ECMs) and potential cost savings.
  • Accurately record and organize field data, site observations, and measurements.
  • Collaborate with senior auditors and project managers to review findings and contribute to audit reports.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed to discuss audit processes and initial findings.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, energy codes, and emerging technologies.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during field work.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various field conditions.
  • Basic understanding of building systems, HVAC, or electrical concepts.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Building Science, or a related technical field.
  • Internship or project experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or building services.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software or data analysis tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED Green Associate, OSHA 10/30).
