Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our team in New Port Richey. This role involves providing essential personal care and support services to patients in their homes on 12-hour day or night shift rotations. The ideal candidate will be committed to patient well-being, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work independently while adhering to care plans. You will play a crucial role in helping patients maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. This position requires flexibility for rotating shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks related to patient care areas.
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Monitor and record vital signs as instructed by the care plan.
- Document observations and communicate changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Assist with medication reminders.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
Required Skills
- Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in Florida.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in home health or a similar care setting.
- Ability to work 12-hour day/night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients safely.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with various medical conditions and special care needs.
- Additional certifications in first aid or specialized care.
