Job Description
The FedEx Freight Clerk – High School Diploma/GED, Stable, plays a vital role in the efficient operation of our freight service center in Fairfield, CA. This position involves performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks essential to the smooth processing of freight, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and providing excellent support to both internal teams and external customers. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is an on-site position where your contribution will directly impact our daily operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding shipments, tracing, and billing via phone and email.
- Maintain organized filing systems for various reports, documents, and records.
- Input data into the company's transportation management system (TMS) with precision.
- Prepare and verify daily reports, manifests, and invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with inventory control and equipment tracking within the service center.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with drivers, dockworkers, and management staff.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
