Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Microsoft Records Management specialist to provide critical support to our federal agency clients. In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing, managing, and optimizing records management strategies and solutions within Microsoft 365 environments. You will ensure compliance with federal records regulations, enhance information governance, and contribute to the secure and efficient handling of vital agency data. This position requires a strong understanding of Microsoft 365 compliance features, SharePoint Online, and the specific regulatory landscape faced by federal government entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement records management policies and procedures in alignment with federal regulations (e.g., NARA, DoD 5015.2).
- Configure and manage Microsoft 365 compliance features, including Retention Policies, Labels, eDiscovery, and Audit Logs.
- Provide expert guidance on SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business as records repositories.
- Assist federal agencies with the migration of legacy records to Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Conduct training sessions and create documentation for agency staff on records management best practices and tool usage.
- Collaborate with IT and legal teams to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.
- Monitor and report on records management program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Support federal agency clients in meeting audit requirements related to records management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in records management or information governance.
- Proven expertise with Microsoft 365 compliance center features (e.g., Retention Policies, Labels, eDiscovery).
- Strong understanding of SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business capabilities for records management.
- Familiarity with federal records management regulations (NARA, OMB, DoD 5015.2).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
- Experience with data migration and information architecture principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Library Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or Compliance Administrator Associate certification.
- Certified Records Manager (CRM) or other relevant professional certifications.
- Experience working directly with federal government agencies.
- Knowledge of other enterprise content management (ECM) systems.
