Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Hospital Floor Assistant to join our dedicated team at Maidstone Hospital. This vital role supports the smooth operation of our hospital floors by assisting with various non-clinical tasks that do not involve heavy lifting. You will work closely with nursing and administrative staff to ensure our hospital environment is clean, organised, and welcoming for patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy ward environment, including tidying communal areas and patient rooms.
- Restock supplies on the ward, such as linens, stationery, and patient amenities, ensuring availability when needed.
- Distribute meals and refreshments to patients, assisting those who require help with opening packages or positioning.
- Run errands within the hospital, such as delivering samples to laboratories or retrieving equipment.
- Support patients with non-clinical needs, such as answering call bells, providing comfort, and engaging in light conversation.
- Ensure patient comfort by adjusting beds, pillows, and providing clean bedding (without patient lifting).
- Monitor and report any potential hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate staff.
- Assist with the transfer of patient belongings upon admission or discharge.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and patient confidentiality.
