Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in students’ lives through mathematics? Chegg is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Online Math Tutors to support 15-year-old teens and younger students. This is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity where you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one online tutoring sessions, helping students understand complex concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and build confidence in math. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging and effective one-on-one online math tutoring sessions for students aged 10-15.
  • Help students understand core mathematical concepts, including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and elementary math.
  • Provide clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and practice problems tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to ensure comprehension and skill development.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and patient learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students and, where necessary, with parents/guardians regarding progress.
  • Utilize Chegg's online tutoring platform efficiently and effectively.
  • Adhere to scheduling commitments and professionalism standards.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional proficiency in mathematics, up to Pre-Calculus level.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students learn.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with online communication tools (e.g., video conferencing, digital whiteboards).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring students.
  • A Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with various school curricula and teaching methodologies.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
