Job Description
Are you passionate about helping others and looking to start a rewarding career in healthcare? Kaiser Permanente is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Behavioral Health Caregivers. This is an entry-level position, and no prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with behavioral health needs, helping them achieve greater independence and well-being within a structured environment. This role offers an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and make a tangible impact under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with behavioral health needs, fostering a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Assist members with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Facilitate and participate in therapeutic activities and group sessions designed to promote social skills and coping mechanisms.
- Observe and document member behavior, progress, and concerns, communicating effectively with the care team.
- Implement individualized care plans and behavioral interventions as instructed by clinical staff.
- Encourage member participation in community outings and recreational activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and and orderliness of the living environment.
- Respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A strong desire to help others and a genuine interest in behavioral health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Previous volunteer or personal experience caring for individuals with special needs.
- Basic knowledge of mental health conditions and behavioral support techniques.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
