Job Description

Are you passionate about helping others and looking to start a rewarding career in healthcare? Kaiser Permanente is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Behavioral Health Caregivers. This is an entry-level position, and no prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with behavioral health needs, helping them achieve greater independence and well-being within a structured environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with behavioral health needs, fostering a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Assist members with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
  • Facilitate and participate in therapeutic activities and group sessions designed to promote social skills and coping mechanisms.
  • Observe and document member behavior, progress, and concerns, communicating effectively with the care team.
  • Implement individualized care plans and behavioral interventions as instructed by clinical staff.
  • Encourage member participation in community outings and recreational activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and and orderliness of the living environment.
  • Respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A strong desire to help others and a genuine interest in behavioral health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor.
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college coursework in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Previous volunteer or personal experience caring for individuals with special needs.
  • Basic knowledge of mental health conditions and behavioral support techniques.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
