Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Distribution Center Manager to lead operations at our state-of-the-art facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of distribution center management, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and efficiency. The successful candidate will drive productivity, manage a large team, optimize processes, and contribute significantly to our supply chain success. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a large team of associates, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all daily distribution center operations, including inbound receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and outbound shipping.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve targets.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and federal/state laws.
- Manage budget and resource allocation, optimizing expenditure while maintaining high operational standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including transportation, merchandising, and human resources, to ensure seamless operations.
- Utilize data analysis to identify trends, forecast demands, and implement strategic improvements.
- Champion initiatives for associate engagement, training, and development.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing large teams in a fast-paced distribution center environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Proven ability to optimize operational processes and drive efficiency.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and experience using performance metrics to inform decision-making.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with automated warehousing systems and technologies.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
- Previous experience with a large-scale retail distribution network.
