Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Guest Service Assistant (Porter) to join our dedicated team at Hilton Coventry. In this vital front-line role, you will be the first and last point of contact for many of our guests, setting the tone for their entire stay. You will be responsible for providing a warm welcome, assisting with luggage, and ensuring guests have everything they need for a comfortable visit. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, offering immediate assistance with luggage and transportation.
  • Efficiently handle the loading and unloading of guest luggage from vehicles, ensuring safe and secure transport.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, providing a brief orientation to hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
  • Assist guests with inquiries, provide directions, and offer recommendations for dining, entertainment, and local points of interest.
  • Deliver newspapers, mail, messages, and other items to guest rooms in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and entrance area, reporting any maintenance or cleaning needs.
  • Act as a point of contact for guest requests, coordinating with other departments to ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution.
  • Ensure the security of guest belongings and property, following hotel safety and security protocols.
  • Assist with valet parking services as required, ensuring vehicles are handled with care.
  • Support the Front Office and Concierge teams with various tasks to enhance the overall guest experience.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy luggage frequently.
  • A professional and polished appearance with an enthusiastic and friendly demeanor.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with the Coventry area, including local attractions, restaurants, and transport links.
  • Possession of a full, clean UK driving license.
