Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Entry-Level Receptionist to join our Public Defender’s Office. This full-time position is crucial to the smooth operation of our busy office, serving as the first point of contact for clients, legal professionals, and the public. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a strong commitment to supporting our mission of providing essential legal services. This is an on-site role that offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the legal field within a public service context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome clients and visitors with a professional and compassionate demeanor.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems, direct calls, and take accurate messages.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain appointment calendars for multiple legal professionals.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, copying, and data entry.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized reception area.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Provide basic information to clients and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Support office staff with various clerical duties as needed.
