Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Policy Specialist with a strong focus on Diversity & Inclusion to join our team in Palmdale, CA. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and programs that promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace across our organization. You will collaborate with various departments, senior leadership, and external partners to ensure our policies align with best practices and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture where every employee can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update company policies, procedures, and guidelines with a specific lens on Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) principles.
- Conduct research and analysis of D&I best practices, industry trends, and legal requirements to inform policy development.
- Collaborate with HR, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to ensure D&I policies are integrated into all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
- Assist in the development and delivery of D&I training programs and awareness initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of D&I policies and programs, preparing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Serve as an internal consultant on D&I policy matters, providing guidance and support to employees and management.
- Participate in D&I committees and task forces, contributing to strategic initiatives.
- Support the preparation of D&I related compliance reports and external diversity benchmarks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations concerning D&I and employment law.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in policy development, HR, D&I, or a related compliance role.
- Proven understanding of Diversity & Inclusion principles, concepts, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and legal texts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting policies, reports, and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., HR, Public Policy, Organizational Development).
- Experience working within a large corporate environment, particularly in aerospace, defense, or technology sectors.
- Certifications in Diversity & Inclusion (e.g., CCDP, CDP).
- Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and regulations related to equal opportunity and non-discrimination.
- Experience with project management and change management principles.
