Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting entry-level opportunity to start a career in aviation? Menzies Aviation is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as an Aircraft Refueler / Line Service Technician at Bournemouth Airport. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive, full training to equip you with all the skills needed to succeed in this vital role. This is an on-site position working directly on the airport ramp, offering a unique hands-on experience in the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently refuel various types of aircraft in accordance with company and regulatory procedures.
  • Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance checks on fueling equipment and vehicles.
  • Operate ground support equipment (GSE) including fuel trucks and other vehicles on the airport ramp.
  • Communicate effectively with flight crews, ground control, and other airport personnel.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation accurately for each fueling operation.
  • Monitor fuel quality and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist with other line service duties as required, contributing to overall ramp operations.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK driving license (essential for airside access).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to strict procedures.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Reliable and punctual with a team-player attitude.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain necessary airport security clearances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in an outdoor or physically demanding role.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or experience with vehicle operation.
  • Experience in a safety-critical or highly regulated environment.
