Job Description
Join Nordstrom’s vibrant team as a Junior Fragrance Specialist in our La Jolla department store. You will be instrumental in creating an exceptional shopping experience for our customers, guiding them through our exquisite collection of fragrances, and helping them discover their signature scent. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for beauty and a talent for customer engagement, eager to grow within the luxury retail sector. A bonus structure is in place to reward your sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing expert fragrance consultations.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all fragrance brands, products, and ingredients available in the department.
- Achieve and exceed daily/weekly sales targets and individual performance goals.
- Educate customers on fragrance notes, longevity, and proper application techniques.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards, ensuring the fragrance counter is always clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems.
- Build lasting customer relationships through personalized service and follow-up.
- Participate in product training sessions and store meetings.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to achieve sales goals in a retail environment.
- Strong interest in and basic knowledge of fragrances and cosmetics.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in luxury retail or beauty sales.
- Familiarity with various fragrance families and brands.
- Associates degree or certification in cosmetology/beauty.
