Job Description
Join Blackbaud as a Virtual Grant Writing Assistant and become an integral part of our mission to empower non-profits. This is a fully remote position where you will support our client non-profit organizations by assisting with various aspects of the grant writing process. You will play a crucial role in helping these organizations secure vital funding to achieve their philanthropic goals. We are looking for a highly organized individual with excellent research and writing skills who is passionate about making a difference from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research on potential grant opportunities and funding sources relevant to client non-profits.
- Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and other grant-related documents.
- Maintain and organize a database of grant submissions, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with non-profit clients to gather necessary information, data, and stories for grant applications.
- Ensure all grant applications are compliant with funder guidelines and submitted accurately and on time.
- Track and report on the status of grant applications and outcomes.
- Provide administrative support related to grant writing activities as needed.
- Stay updated on grant-making trends and philanthropic giving within various sectors.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to conduct detailed research and synthesize information effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A passion for supporting non-profit organizations and social good initiatives.
- Familiarity with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in grant writing, technical writing, or a similar field.
- Experience working with non-profit organizations or in the philanthropic sector.
- Understanding of grant lifecycle management.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Non-profit Management, or a related field.
