Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Support Aide with a Clinical Admin focus to join our team in Austin. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting pharmacy operations and clinical administrative tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent service. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with administrative tasks related to pharmacy operations, including data entry, record keeping, and document management.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls, providing professional and courteous assistance to patients, healthcare providers, and internal staff.
- Process prescription refills and prior authorization requests under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain accurate patient information and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers for necessary patient information and documentation.
- Resolve patient inquiries and escalate complex issues to appropriate clinical staff.
- Manage and organize pharmacy inventory records and supplies.
- Prepare and maintain various reports and documentation as required for clinical and operational compliance.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or administrative support role.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to pharmaceuticals.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or enrollment in a pharmacy technician program.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
