Job Description
Are you looking for a fast-paced role where you can make a real difference to customers every day? Tesco in Chippenham is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Personal Shoppers / Order Pickers. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with no prior experience to kickstart a career in retail, focusing on delivering excellent service by accurately and efficiently preparing online orders for our customers. You’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring our customers receive the right products at the right time, maintaining our high standards of quality and freshness. Full training will be provided, so all you need is a can-do attitude, a commitment to teamwork, and a desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently pick and pack customer online orders according to store standards and timelines.
- Ensure accuracy of picked items, scanning products and checking for quality and freshness.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding stock availability and customer queries.
- Handle products with care to prevent damage and minimise waste.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised working environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and food safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring orders are correct and ready for collection/delivery.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with excellent time management.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
- Basic understanding of customer service principles.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is a plus, but not essential.
- Familiarity with store layout and product locations.
- Basic IT literacy for using scanning equipment.
