Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Water Damage Restoration Assistant to join our dedicated team in Manhattan. This is a critical role for individuals who are reliable, possess a strong work ethic, and are ready to respond to emergencies. As an Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our lead technicians in all phases of water damage restoration projects, from initial assessment and extraction to drying and final cleanup. This position requires participation in an on-call roster, with significant opportunities for overtime, especially during peak demand or emergency situations. Key Responsibilities

• Assist lead technicians in the setup and execution of water extraction, drying, and dehumidification processes.
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment including pumps, dehumidifiers, air movers, and moisture meters.
• Perform demolition and removal of damaged materials (e.g., drywall, flooring) as directed.
• Conduct thorough cleanup and sanitization of affected areas.
• Load and unload equipment and supplies from company vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and materials consumed.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and industry standards.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and respond promptly to emergency calls.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including company vehicles and equipment.

Required Skills

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Reliable transportation to and from our facility or job sites.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and participate in an on-call schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field.
• IICRC certification (e.g., WRT – Water Restoration Technician) is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED.
