Job Description

Puffin Produce is seeking enthusiastic and hardworking students to join our team as Summer Harvesters. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for a unique summer experience, offering a live-in role on our beautiful farms located in the picturesque Welsh countryside near Swansea. You’ll be an integral part of our harvesting team, working outdoors in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of fresh, quality produce from field to fork. This role is perfect for those who enjoy physical work, love the outdoors, and want to gain practical experience while making new friends and saving money.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual harvesting of various crops according to established standards and procedures.
  • Assist with packing and quality control of harvested produce directly in the field.
  • Operate basic farm machinery and equipment under supervision, if required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily harvesting targets.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and food safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agricultural work or other outdoor manual labour roles.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Basic understanding of plant care or horticulture.
